CDS advanced technology bv announces the release of the LanBox-LC II software bundle version 1.3. The free upgrade enhances all three major components of the bundle (LanBox-LC II firmware, LCedit II lighting editor and the LCtools maintenance program) and adds several examples for developers.

The LanBox-LC II is a 250 channel DMX lighting controller with a built in sequencer and transition manager. Lighting programs can be activated through MIDI, serial port and LocalTalk. The LanBox-LC II is used by MIDI artists (musicians, theater acts and sound engineers), alternative lighting professionals, theme parks, magicians, and many other creative minds all over the world.

Some new features are Blind editing, manual overrides through exceptions, live monitoring with stage indicators, live fade-time and hold-time updates, a DMX Patcher, more shortcuts, empty scenes, a new action command called hold, improved output routing, improved visual feedback, total MIDI control, new generic fixture pallets, a preference window and more.

A major step forward is the expanded MIDI implementation. Just about every aspect of the LanBox-LC II can now be controlled through MIDI. Together with a MIDI command station like the Peavey PC 1600x or a MIDI sequencer, LanBox-LC II is the ideal choice for lighting control in the MIDI world.

Many of these new features are targeted at the professional theatre and stage lighting world. Past releases have generated a lot of interest from this community, but also some questions and requests. This version accommodates a lot of the requirements that this particular operating environment requires.

But it's not only the MIDI, theatre and stage lighting world that benefits from the new features. The LanBox-LC II has become more versatile and better equipped to deal with more professional operating environments. Features like Blind editing and live monitoring will improve the productivity a many creative minds in the field of lighting.
