Since its introduction in 1961, the SG body style has become a classic guitar. Now Gibson has announced three new limited edition SG models: the SG Standard, SG-X, and SG Special. These new guitars will also feature seven new finishes.
First on the list is the SG Standard Natural Burst, with it's mahogany body and bound rosewood fingerboard. It also borrows the trapezoidal inlays from the Les Paul Standard. For electronics, it sports two 490 Series Alnico magnet humbucking pickups.
The limited edition SG-X includes one single coil pickup along with a 500 Series ceramic magnet humbucker and coil tap switch. Available finishes for the SG-X are Army Green, deep Chocolate Brown, or Rust.
Last but not least is the SG Special, with the fattest tone of all with its 490R and 490T Alnico magnet humbuckers. It comes finished in an Ebony stain or Plum with chrome hardware, or classic Cream with gold hardware. Visit Gibson on the web at www.gibson.com. |
