DODs new Bass30 is a floor-based multi-effects processor for the bass
guitar featuring sophisticated bass amplifier modeling capabilities.
The Bass30 provides three amp/bass modelsClassic, Modern and Rockeach
featuring adjustable gain, four-band EQ, gate and volume. The processor also offers
five fretless bass tones (including upright acoustic basses) and twelve synth
bass tones.
Five custom circular footswitches provide easy access to the 30 factory presets
and 30 user locations. The Bass30s exclusive Phrase Sampler allows bassists
to sample up to six seconds of a groove, then play back along with
it at the tap of a footswitch, while the "Jam-Along" function enables
bassists to patch in a playback device (CD, cassette, etc.) and play along with
their favorite songs. A built-in chromatic tuner conveniently eliminates the need
for an external tuning device.
The Bass30 includes a frequency selective, fully programmable compressor with
adjustable crossover, threshold, ratio and gain levels. An impressive array of
programmable digital effects, specifically designed for bass players, are on hand
to provide a wide variety of tone-shaping options without sacrificing the integrity
of the low end. The Bass30s available effects include: limiter, wah, auto
wah, chorus, flanger, phaser, vibrato, enveloped effects, pitch shift, pitch bend,
bass enhancer, detune, delay and reverb.
An on-board expression pedal can be assigned for real-time control of effect
parameters, such as volume, wah, amp gain, modulation speed, modulation depth,
modulation level, pitch bend, delay level, delay regeneration and reverb level.
Each preset has a programmable minimum and maximum value for the expression pedal.
The Bass30 includes a two-way crossover with selectable crossover frequencies,
which can be assigned in biamp mode and routed through the low/left and high/right
outputs, providing great definition and separation of the highs and lows.
DODs Bass30 is housed in a single rugged, easy-to-carry chassis with
a built-in carrying handle for easy transport. Rear panel connections include
a single 1/4-inch unbalanced input, two 1/4-inch unbalanced outputs (Left/Low
and Right/High) and two 1/8-inch stereo TRS jacks for stereo CD input and headphone
output. The unit is also equipped with a HMG PS750 power supply.
The manufacturers suggested US retail price on the new Bass30 is $229.95.
