Steinberg's Clean! To Be Optimized for Intel's
Pentium III
February 17, 1999Steinberg, a worldwide music software leader, today
announced that Clean!, a software program for CD Recording and Restoration, supports
the new Pentium III Systems from Intel. This intuitive and easy-to-use software
is for restoring and enhancing audio and producing custom CDs. With a Pentium
III system, realtime enhancements are listened to simultaneously and parameters
adjusted for the desired level of 'cleanliness.'
The realtime algorithms of Clean! are processing intensive. By using the new
Streaming SIMD extensions which are part of the new PIII system architecture the
software gains enormous performance. The user experiences more ease of use and
faster results being able to adjust and check the DeNoiser, DeCrackler, DeClicker,
StereoEnhancer, Bass Boost and Brilliance all at the same time and judge the level
of audio-restoration in realtime.
The Streaming SIMD Extensions are a new instruction set with new registers,
integrated into the new PIII architecture. Steinberg is very pleased about the
close cooperation with Intel. This makes it possible to immediately open the entire
PIII processing power to the users of Clean!.
Clean! PIII enhanced is available March 15 from Steinberg, free for all registered
users of Clean!.
