Syntrillium Software has announced Cool Edit Pro version 1.2, the latest version
of its audio editor and 64-track mixing software for Windows. Major features of
this latest release include new Full Reverb, Hard Limiter (useful as the final
step before CD burning), DTMF Notch Filter (useful for eliminating annoying 60
Hz hum or similar narrow bandwidth noises), and Pitch Bender effects, the ability
to export to RealMedia G2 format, real-time preview, enhanced quality for almost
all effects, and automatic silence detection and deletion. Version 1.2 also includes
a set of video tutorials that demonstrate how to navigate in Cool Edit Pro and
use its main features.
Cool Edit Pro run under Windows 95/98 or NT, and includes over 30 DSP effects
in total, most with real-time preview, and all of them support 24-bit audio. Additional
DirectX effects can also be used with the program. Multiple soundcards are supported.
Syntrillium expects to be shipping version 1.2 on CD by June 15 1999, but licensed
users of versions 1.0 or 1.1 can upgrade right now by downloading the free upgrade
patch from Syntrillium's web site (www.syntrillium.com).
A demo version is available for download as well.
