Ernie Ball® Music Man® updates its popular StingRay®,
Sterling® and StingRay® 5 basses with the choice of 20 colors, many of them new, an optional Fishman
piezo bridge on the Sterling and StingRay models and an optional matching headstock.
With increased production capabilities at Ernie Ball's new state-of-the-art factory in San Luis
Obispo, California, basses can now be ordered in an array of colors, appealing to musicians spanning
several generations. Colors include black, white, sunburst, translucent colors in red, teal, orange,
gold, purple and green, pearl colors in blue, platinum, lavender and purple, candy red, metal flake
in green or brown, black sparkle and fire engine red. The company continues to offer the basses in
the natural and vintage three-tone sunburst finish as well.
An optional piezo bridge designed by Fishman and Ernie Ball Music Man is also now available on the
Sting Ray and Sterling models. It gives bass players the ability to produce warm acoustic sounding
tones along with the industry standard Music Man magnetic pickups. Controls consist of three band
equalization (treble, mid, bass), volume and a balance control to mix the acoustic sounding bridge
with the magnetic. The pre-amp is a special design by Ernie Ball Music Man.
