New JBL Pro EON G2 Series

Newly enhanced EON speakers feature improved Neodymium Differential Drive transducer, higher power and advanced ThermoMaster(R) technology.

July 10, 2000

JBL today announced the second generation of its famed EON series: the EON G2 Powered Speaker System. The next wave of EON systems promises to build upon the high level of performance that has come to be expected from its predecessor.

The flagship of the new series is the JBL EON15 G2, delivering 300 watts of power to a 15-inch Neodymium Differential Drive" low frequency driver. The driver boasts a dual neodymium magnet and dual voice coil motor that delivers high output and low distortion from a lightweight woofer. Meanwhile, the high frequency amplifier delivers 100 watts of power to a 1.75" titanium diaphragm compression driver with ferro-fluid cooling.

JBL's revolutionary ThermoMaster" Total Thermal Management System" eliminates the need for any internal or external cooling fans. Instead, a single piece, cast-aluminum baffle integrates the woofer frame, horn and amplifier heat-sink while air movement through the finned ports dissipates heat. The JBL EON15 G2 includes a built-in three-input mixer with one balanced mic/line input, two 1/4" phone line-level inputs and a two-band EQ. A new Mix Out feature allows the mixed output to be sent to an external mixing console. The appearance of EON15 G2 has been updated with an attractive but unobtrusive all black finish and the "EON" logo subtly stamped into the grill.

The EON15 G2 is at home as a main PA or on stage as a monitor or instrument amplification system. Musicians who own an EON speaker can use them singly for casual solo or duo work, or combine multiple EONs into a complete, powerful PA system. Instrumentalists will appreciate the expanded input capabilities of the EON15 G2. With its integral three-input mixer, the EON15 G2 can directly accommodate electronic keyboards, drum machines, electrified acoustic guitars, and microphones. Electric guitarists using the new generation of amplifier modeling modules will find that the clean, full-range sound of EON15 G2 reproduces all of the subtle tones the modules can produce. The new "MIX OUT" feature even provides an output from the internal mixer that can be sent to the main PA, making the EON15 G2 the ideal choice for keyboard or acoustic guitar amplification.

With more than a three hundred thousand systems in applications including live sound, music playback in entertainment, and A/V sound reinforcement, the JBL EON system is an industry leader in powered portable speaker systems. The advent of the EON15 G2 will carry the tradition to a new level.
