October 18, 2000Johnston Basses has integrated the revolutionary LightWave Systems optical pickup into a stunning new series of
basses. The Johnston basses feature AAAA bookmatched tops and the finest
tonewood backs for their beauty and superior tonal qualities. Four and Five string models come standard with a graphite
reinforced one piece maple neck-through. The ebony fretboard is inlayed with top and side mother of pearl dots.
Options include lined or unlined fretless necks and a wide selection of bookmatched tops including Koa, Cocobolo,
Flame, Curly, and birds-eye maple. As well as many other fine woods. Back options include Bubinga, Swamp Ash,
Zebrawood, Mahogany and, Koa. Finish options include hand rubbed, satin and high gloss. Custom inlays and bolt-on
necks are also available. Hardshell case included.
