Making its North American debut at the 109th AES Convention in Los Angeles will be the brand new ML4000 dual function
(FOH/Monitor) live console from Allen & Heath. The ML4000 will represent the next desk in the ML family, neatly fitting in the A&H range
between the GL4000 and the new consoles larger sibling, the recently launched ML5000.
The new ML4000 is a VCA-equipped 12 aux, 8 audio group mixer with 8 mute groups, 4-way matrix, and enhanced LCR and IEM facilities. Taking
design cues from the ML5000, the console brings the same access to superb sound and build quality, as well as advanced features such as VCA
groups and LCRplus panning system, all in a well-designed, compact and easy-to-use format.
The console incorporates high quality mic pre amps, while an ultra-solid internal grounding scheme ensures the very best in sonic performance. The
console also boasts an intelligent P/AFL system that gives the operator much more efficient PFL and stereo-in-place AFL monitoring. In the master
section, the "engineer's toolbox" provides additional functions, including intercom, oscillator and pink noise generator, assignable talkback and
headphones, and local and wedge monitor feeds.
Following the ML5000 format, the ML4000 has an angled fader bay and will be available in 32, 40 and 48-channel formats, all of which include two
dual stereo channels. Allen & Heath plans to soon also make available a 24-channel sidecar, bringing the possible total number of channels to 96
when using two sidecars.
Offering features that can only currently be found on much more expensive desks, combined with its smaller physical footprint, the ML4000 is an
ideal contender for PA hire companies and space-limited fixed installations. For more information, visit their web site at www.allen-heath.com. |
