WindWorks Announces CV-Midi Software
April 17, 2000 WindWorks Design announces the release of a new software program,
CV-Midi Development Tool.
The CV-Midi Development Tool software is for the design and development of
control voltage applications, whose intended output is the musical instrument
digital interface (MIDI). This software tool and the accompanying source code
are intended to be a starting point for anyone wanting to learn and experiment
with converting control voltages to the MIDI serial interface. This PC program
is designed to run under Windows 3.1, 95, and 98.
Essential to this development software is the circuit board (PCB) which provides
the appropriate hardware analog-to-digital (ADC) interface between the control
voltages and the computer. The software addresses the ADC circuit via any parallel
printer port on the host PC. The schematic and bill of materials for building
the PCB are included in the free download.
"This software and required hardware were first developed as part of a
research project undertaken to develop a control voltage-MIDI interface to a wind
synthesis controller," said Art Whitfield, president of WindWorks Design.
"This free software tool will allow anyone to quickly start their own design
work with MIDI controllers."
The program is available as a free download from WindWorks Design: WindWorksDesign.com. |
