CFox Debuts X Series Guitars
December 26, 2000
CFox Guitars further expands its line
with its single-x-braced guitars. The CFox "X" celebrates
the classic pre-war American steel string guitar in voice and design. It is
braced to produce a big, rich sound and features a herringbone rosette,
tortoise shell pickguard, mother-of-pearl position markers and a square
headstock. The "X" also includes benchmark CFox innovations such as a
graphite reinforced narrow profile neck and compound radius fingerboard -
which allow for ease of playability - and reversed kerf linings and a footed
neck block for exceptional stability.
"The design challenge of the 'X'," says Charles Fox, "was to combine the
deep, warm 'surround sound' voice and classic styling that many traditional
acoustic players prefer, with the same uncompromising workmanship,
playability and finish of our standard Napa, Sonoma and Sierra series
guitars. I'm very pleased with the result."
The "X" is available in all CFox body shapes and is hand made with a solid
Sitka spruce soundboard, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, and
ebony fretboard, bridge and headplate. The suggested retail price is
$2,100.
