Tau Bassline/M-Drive Freeware Bundle from Muon

July 20, 2000Muon's Tau Bassline software is available free to visitors at the Muon Software website, before the end of August 2000. It closely models a certain famous silver monosynth, and has exactly the same sought-after "acid bass" sound as its inspiration.
The free Tau download bundle also includes the M-Drive, a VST overdrive unit, that can produce effects ranging from a subtle warming/compression, to full-on nuclear distortion. The M-Drive is the ideal partner for the Tau.
Tau Features/Specifications:
- VST2.0 format, usable in any compatible host
- One 64-bit oscillator with switchable waveform (sawtooth or square)
- 18 dB/octave resonant filter
- Single Attack/Decay envelope controlling both filter and amplifier envelope
- Monophonic
- Glide feature allows portamento between held notes, with variable glide time and envelope retrigger
- On-screen virtual keyboard
- Perfect for trance, house, and techno, not to mention acid

The Tau Bassline/M-Drive bundle is directly available as a free download from the Muon website. No registration is required, although joining the mailing list is advised, so that users can hear about upgrades.
