July 11, 2000

The Electron is the first full-scale VST synth from Muon. Three 64-bit oscillators, two independent multimode resonant filters, and multiple modulation routings mean that the Electron offers unrivalled creative possibilities for the price.

Features/Specifications

  • VST 2.0 format, usable in any compatible host
  • Three 64-bit oscillators (sawtooth, variable pulse, and square) with oscillator sync and pulsewidth modulation
  • Two independent multimode resonant filters (high pass, low pass, band pass, and band reject)
  • Flexible filter input routing: parallel (with cross fader), serial, and link modes (for dual filtering action)
  • Two independent envelope generators and two LFO's, with selectable waves usable as modulation sources
  • Comprehensive destination modulation routings (pitch, pulsewidth, envelope depth, filter cutoff, filter Q, and LFO rate and depth)
  • MIDI control via velocity, aftertouch, modulation wheel, pitch bend, and continuous controllers
  • Superb logical and intuitive "3D" user interface with selectable controller types, and parameter value pop-ups
  • Unique on-screen "X-Y" controller for hands-on mouse control of two parameters (selectable) at the same time
