ATI Introduces New Paragon Production Console

August 10, 2000ATI (Audio Toys, Inc.) unveiled its newest mixing product - the Paragon II Production console - at MD/Clair in Nashville in early July. Designed to complement the company's hugely successful Paragon II Monitor console, the Paragon Production can be used for FOH mixing, broadcast production, or live theater. With an unprecedented level of features and performance, the Paragon Production is set to impact the live sound industry in a big way. The standard Paragon Production contains 64 mic inputs with full routing, eight stereo line inputs with routing to groups or the mix busses, and four stereo line inputs with routing to the stereo masters or the matrix. An impressive variety of outputs include eight mono and four stereo Aux busses, eight stereo audio groups with inserts, eight stereo matrix outs with inserts, two main mono mix outs and two main stereo mix outs. All input channels also have a stereo direct out and insert send, each with level control. Audio control capabilities include eight VCA groups and two VCA grand masters. Each channel features ATI's famous four-band parametric EQ, on-channel gate and compressor, true LCR panning with LCR audio subgroup capability and the company's own Distributed Intelligence(tm) technology. Group meters can be switched to show either group output or summing buss levels. "The decision to introduce the Production console in Nashville was an easy one" explained company president Larry Droppa. "MD was one of our first customers and has one of the largest inventories of ATI products. John McBride owner of MD has always been an enthusiastic supporter of ATI and our products. We were happy to let John and his fine staff of engineers get the first look at our latest creation." Shane Morris, Director of Engineering was on hand to provide a thorough explanation of all functions and operations of the Production console. He also gave demonstrations of the power of the new Distributed Intelligence(tm) system and its capabilities. "Distributed Intelligence allows the Paragon Production console to route and remember Group, VCA and muting assignment without the need for a central computer," explained Morris. "This ability completely eliminates the possibility of glitch, lockup and reboot problems." Enhancement options are available to allow channel and aux mutes, snapshot fader recall and full dynamic moving fader automation.
