June 28, 2000The SidStation is a MIDI-controlled synthesizer with real-time controllers. The heart of the SidStation is the sound generating
chip from the classic home computer Commodore 64 the MOS6581 also known as the SID-chip. Many synthesizers built
today are made to fit a current trend to a specific market. SidStation is not one of them. It is built with love and dedication, and
capable of producing expressive sounds that can not be recreated with any other instrument. It's a very unique-sounding
marriage of analog and digital techniques.
SidStation Ninja
A limited edition SidStation model has now been released: Ninja, the dark avenger of the SID-family. It is silky black with clear blue LED's.
This martial arts master also comes with a special set of patches originating from the domains of 8-bit chaos. The production is
limited to 50 numbered units (serial 2000 to 2049). A full presentation can be found at the SidStation website.
New operating system
The SidStation OS v1.1 has also been released. New features include extended table-sequencing functions, now up to 65 steps per
oscillator. Examples of how this sounds can be found at the updated SidStation website. The MIDI control system that was
named the worlds best by reviewing magazines is now even more extended.
Upgradekits are available free of charge for all SidStation users at the SidStation website.
