PRESS RELEASE

Fender "Plugs In" to Consumer's Needs

July 7, 2000

Continuing on the success of its California Cables , Fender's Strings, Parts & Accessories (SPA) division will introduce two new cable lines at this summer's NAMM show in Nashville. Whether it's a vintage look and feel, or no-nonsense workhorse, the new Vintage Voltage and Electro-Volt cables deliver beyond exceptional Fender tone along with the quality and durability that musicians expect from Fender products.

Both the new Vintage Voltage and Electro-Volt cables feature gold-tipped plugs, oxygen-free copper wire, braided copper shielding and heavy-duty heat shrink tubing. On top of that, they're backed by Fender's Limited Lifetime Warranty. "In other words," says Jeff Moore, Marketing Director for SPA, "they're built to last, and we guarantee it!"

The new Vintage Voltage cables are cloth covered in designs and colors modeled after vintage Fender amplifier cosmetics. Available in lengths of 10 feet or 18 feet, Vintage Voltage cables come in a choice of Vintage Tweed, Black/Silver, Brown/Wheat or Brown/Oxblood.

For the down-and-dirty player who says, "Just give me a cable," the new Electro-Volt cables are the no-nonsense answer. They are all covered with a classic black rubber casing, and are available in a variety of lengths including: 1 foot; 3 feet; 6 feet; 10 feet; and 18 feet. There's also a 6 inch cable with right angle plugs, as well a new 25 feet 14 gauge speaker cable, and two new 20 feet microphone cables (Hi-Z & Lo-Z).

"The response to our California Cables was overwhelming," adds Moore. "so we wanted to expand our line to accommodate our customer's needs. With the aesthetic varieties and addition of new items like the 6 inch right angle and microphone cables, I think we've done just that."
