Daisy Rock Girl Guitars to Launch at NAMM
 |
| The Daisy Rock Electric |
January 10, 2001The Daisy Rock Girl Guitars will be offered to music dealers
for the first time ever at NAMM 2001. This fresh new line of expertly-crafted,
professional-sounding instruments designed specifically for girls is available in electric and
acoustic, and cross many different age groups.
The Daisy Rock line includes; the Junior-Miss acoustic, 29 1/2" in length and a slender
mini-body, it fits comfortably in the hands of young girls ages 5 - 10 (it's also a perfect
travel companion for the professional). The Daisy Rock Acoustic is slightly larger at 39 1/4"
with a super thin neck designed for teens and adults. And finally, there's the Daisy Rock
Electric with a bolt-on 22-fret maple neck in a 22 1/2" scale slim profile, rosewood
fingerboard with daisy inlays, and a five flower-petal body style from premium basswood. All
guitars are available in Pepper Mint (pink), Dreamy Daisy (yellow), and Awesome Blue.
Conceived and designed by Tish Ciravolo, a female bassist entrenched in the club scene for many
years, her experience has been that young girls are often inhibited to pick up the instrument
because traditional guitars are bulky and physically awkward for them to hold. "If you look at
females in popular music there aren't a whole lot of women guitarists and it's not for lack of
talent - just look at P.J. Harvey, Nancy Wilson, Bonnie Raitt, and Melissa Etheridge." Ciravalo
says. "Until now there hasn't been a guitar built that young girls feel comfortable with and my
hope is the Daisy Rock will conquer these inhibitions and empower more young girls to play
guitar." Daisy Rock guitars are constructed by Michael Ciravolo, President of Schecter Guitars,
who also makes axes for Papa Roach, Powerman 5000, Orgy, and Stone Temple Pilots For more information, visit their web site at www.daisyrock.com. |
