February 2, 2001

Studiomaster has announced the introduction of their FUSION Series D.J./K.J. mixer. As the name implies the Fusion merges professional PA features with high quality effects processor and state of the art D.J. and K.J. mixing.

The three Mic channels provide XLR/jack combo inputs, 80Hz hi-pass filter, three band EQ with mid sweep and smooth 60mm faders. The onboard effects DSP provides three stunning VOCAL sounds and two delay settings with REGEN and are selected via one touch buttons. The D.J. section of the mixer features four stereo inputs with 60mm faders, CUE buttons and assignable, long life, user removable 45mm crossfader. The crossfader taper is also fully adjustable to suit modern D.J. styles.

Unlike other mixers the four stereo channels on the Fusion are not identical but tailored for maximum flexibility. The first stereo pair provides A/B input switching so a total of four CD players can be connected and feature a three band fixed channel EQ. The next stereo pair has switchable CD or PHONO inputs, three-band EQ with –36dB, fast slope ‘kill’ facility. An MPX (multiplex) button removes the vocal track on special Karaoke CD’s. The comprehensive output section features a 60mm master output fader feeding balanced XLR outputs.

Metering is via three 12-segment bargraphs, a left, right and CUE – ideal for beat matching tracks. The phones signal is derived from a mix of CUE and output signals. The assignable BOOTH output can be selected from either the headphone mix or main output. The Mic channel signal can be cut from the BOOTH allowing high sound level mixing without chance of Mic feed back.

Two VIDEO inputs and one output is provided which allows for two Karaoke players to be utilized into a single TV monitor. And with the KJ in mind we come to the assignable foot switch socket on the rear panel. This can turn the effects DSP on and off for clear announcements between songs or can mute two of the mic channels giving control back to the KJ at the end of a performance.

Available now. Suggested retail price: $569.00, Color Options: Black and Silver,
