Starting in November, CreamWare's Luna II recording card for Windows and Mac will be delivered
with version 3.0 software. An update to the new
software version is available for existing users.
The new software package includes a collection of new DSP effects which are
computed in realtime by the Luna card's three SHARC DSPs. Especially worthy
of note is the MasterVerb, a high-quality reverb effects that compares well
against external reverb processors. Also included: chorus, flanger, phaser,
compressor, limiter, gate, EQ and various delay effects. All effects use
the same 32-bit precision algorithms employed by the larger CreamWare DSP
systems.
The new version also benefits from improvements to the user
interface which significantly simplify working with Luna II, especially
with the simultaneous use of many plug-ins. The Luna Recording Mixer and
the 5.1 Surround Mixer have also been revised.
Further new developments include an ASIO driver with 64 channels, AC3 Dolby
Surround digital output via S/PDIF, accelerated graphics and more. In
addition, Luna II can now be used under Windows 2000/XP.
With a complete set of Ultra Low Latency drivers plus 24-bit / 96 kHz
analog and digital inputs and outputs, Luna was specifically conceived as a
professional I/O card for use with native audio software. In addition, with
its three on-board SHARC DSPs, Luna II offers of the advantages of a
solid DSP-based architecture. The unique possibilities afforded by
latency-free routing and the integrated DSP-based "live" mixers and effects
make Luna II a valuable enhancement to any audio computer - for the price
of an ordinary audio card. Finally, the extensive DSP plug-in library of
the CreamWare Pulsar/SCOPE platform can be used with Luna II. Over a
hundred plug-ins are already available - effects, synthesizers, samplers
and more.
Luna II is available at a suggested retail price of 450 Euro net.
The update to software version 3.0 costs 98 Euro and is available via the
CreamWare Online Shop, as well as from authorized CreamWare dealers. The
update is available free of charge to those who have purchased Luna II
during the four week period preceding the release of version 3.0 software.
