August 21, 2001Mackie Designs Inc. (NASDAQ: MKIE)
announced that their new MDR24/96 hard disk recorder is now
shipping. Announced publicly for the first time two weeks ago, the
MDR24/96 is a 24-track, 24-bit non-linear hard disk recorder with a U.S.
street price of just $1999.00 (introductory pricing).
"The MDR24/96 is based on our HDR24/96 recorder/editor," stated Scott
Garside, Recording Products Market Manager at Mackie Designs. "Intended
for recording rather than extensive editing, the MDR24/96 is the ideal
tool for home and project studios, live recording and as an adjunct to
ours and other digital audio workstations. It is also the ideal
replacement for aging multitrack recorders."
"This has been one of the most successful product launches in Mackie's
history," stated Jamie Engen, President and CEO of Mackie Designs.
"Initial interest has been very strong, and we anticipate that shipping
the product will increase the excitement. The fact that less than two
weeks elapsed between the announcement and the first shipment is a great
tribute to everyone involved and is an example of what a great team we
have at Mackie!"
