August 8, 2001Washburn International has the
launched the NV electric acoustic guitars. The NV line consists of two
models, the NV100 and NV300, which are offered in tobacco sunburst, natural,
and black.
"We set out to design a new acoustic electric that would be unlike anything
available in the marketplace. I focused on practicality for the
professional recording and performing artists. The general parameters were
an amalgam of patented features, player comfort, road worthiness, audio
execution, and a nouveau look that brings acoustic electrics into the 21st
century." Said Larry English Vice-President of Manufacturing and Marketing.
The NV's
Unibody construction is made up of one piece of hollowed mahogany with a
spruce top. The slim, fast electric style neck has a bolted neck joint with
a patent pending, locking pitch adjustment and coverless truss rod
adjustment access. These guitars also offer features that are not available
on any other acoustic - neck access to the 22nd fret of the 25 1/2" scale, a
bass balanced bridge, and a belly cut for player comfort.
The NV300 utilizes
a customized electronics package developed in conjunction with Fishman
Electronics, that features a magnetic neck pickup voiced for phosphor bronze
strings. This is combined with the latest in under saddle piezo technology,
a preamp with EQ, a notch filter, phasing and blending capabilities and
Washburn's groundbreaking combination 1/4" pin and XLR jack, which controls
the on-off power through either input. The NV100 utilizes a custom under
saddle tape microphone with a BBand preamp, providing the ultimate in
acoustic amplification. Both models have incredible intonation, a result of
the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. More
