Analog Man Updates Clone Chorus Design
August 7, 2001
The new Analog Man Clone Chorus now has an improved circuit board with more
shielding and carbon composition resistors in a few strategic
places in the signal flow for an even warmer sound.
Still the same awesome sounding, all analog circuit. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
is currently using the mono version on tour for his fast leslie sound.
New in August of 2001 is the STEREO option. Another output jack is added
next to the standard OUT jack. A stereo "daughter board" is mounted on the
main chorus board to add the stereo sound. The chorusing appears on each
side, for a super wide, ethereal sound.
Features:
- True bypass on / off switch, no loss of tone when off, with LED indicator.
- Battery disconnected when INPUT cord removed or POWER cable inserted.
- Power jack allows standard BOSS style PSA 9V adapter (barrel type).
- Depth switch replaced by Depth knob allowing exact setting of depth.
- Speed control knob: from low speed, to faster than a leslie at high speed.
- All analog full chorus, original 1024 stage bbd chips used for high fidelity.
- Aluminum box, slightly smaller than an MXR phase-100.
- Sockets used for all chips, for easier replacement in the rare case of a failure.
- JRC4558 op amp used, as in their TS-808 mod, in place of generic 4558 chip.
- Lifetime guarantee except for damage from misuse or gorilla-like stomping.
- Silk-screened case with durable powdercoating.
- Stereo option: true stereo, either output can be used for mono playing.
- True Bypass possible in Stereo with 4PDT switch or buffered bypass.
Price is $225 or $275 with the stereo option, available direct from Analog
Man.
