To be on display at Winter NAMM 2002, Hohner has announced six acoustic guitars in its new Ovangkol Series. To be known as the O Series, the models introduced will consist of a classical guitar, a folk guitar, a dreadnought, a left-handed dreadnought, a 12-string dreadnought and a cutaway featuring a Shadow EQ system. The instruments feature Ovangkol wood back and sides, solid spruce tops and deluxe tuning machines.
Ovangkol is an African hardwood similar to walnut, with a straight to interlocked grain. These instruments are designed to please the ear and eye of every guitar player, while their reasonable prices will fit their budgets.
The manufacturer's suggested retail prices of Hohner's O Series are: $299 for the classical and folk models; $339 for the dreadnought; $359 for the left-handed dreadnought; $369 for the 12-string dreadnought; and $429 for the acoustic electric cutaway with the Shadow EQ system.
