Nady Introduces New Personal Ear Monitor System

April 5, 2001

The new PEM-500 Personal Ear Monitor system from Nady Systems combines advanced frequency-agile PLL synthesized UHF technology and performance at an affordabie price. The PEM-500 offers a choice of 16 user selectable UHF channels in both the transmitter and receiver as well as stereo (MPX system) or mono mode transmission. The unit is loaded with operating features previously found only in systems costing several times more.

The transmitter design is a rugged all metal half-rack that can be rackmounted singly or side-by-side with optional rack kits. Its front panel features an input level control, stereo headphone monitor output jack and volume control, select button for selecting one of the 16 channels, LED channel display, and left/right 10-segment audio input level displays. The back panel provides a BNC jack for the detachable antenna (offering a remote antenna placement option), a 1/4" TRS balanced microphone input and an XLR and 1/4" combo jack for both the left and right line inputs. The portable bodypack receiver offers a switchable built-in volume limiter; output level control; combination bi-color power ON, signal received, and low battery LED indicator; and operates up to 6 hours (depending on volume) on a 9V alkaline battery. Each receiver is supplied with a pair of miniature, lightweight ear bud speakers that can be "custom" fitted with the soft molded in-ear inserts (included) for maximum comfort and optimum acoustic transfer and isolation.

"The PEM-500 offers all the advantages of wireless in-ear monitoring—mobility, freedom from feedback, elimination of transport issues associated with conventional floor monitors—as well as the long-term health benefits of safe listening levels," commented John Nady, President of Nady Systems. "We think the convenience and superior performance of the PEM-500 makes it indispensable for all live stage music performances…and at a price affordable to everyone."
