Kenton's Plugstation Now Shipping
August 7, 2001
Kenton has announced the release of their eagerly-anticipated
Plugstation. This rackmounting unit allows you to control up to four
Yamaha PLG synthesis cards simultaneously, either as a standalone module
or with a connection to an SW1000XG soundcard.
Plugstation is available in four different configurations. The
Standalone system includes a 4 x stereo 24-bit audio output card (also
with ADAT output) to allow you to route each PLG card to individual
outputs, and use Plugstation as a standalone tone module. The SW1000XG
system lets you connect Plugstation to your SW1000XG soundcard and run
four PLG cards, with audio sent to the soundcard's outputs. The
Combined system combines the features of both the Standalone and
SW1000XG systems, and the Complete system in addition makes it possible
to send digital audio from your SW1000XG direct to Plugstation's audio
outputs.
PLG cards can be edited from Plugstation's front panel, PC/Mac, or a
Kenton Control Freak. Full software support is provided by XGPad, a
software editor which can be downloaded from www.xgpad.com.
Furthermore, as Plugstation's operating system is flash upgradeable you
can stay up to date with free downloads from the Kenton website.
