PRESS RELEASE
| GenieSys Releases DeClipper 2.0 DirectX Plug-In
May 27, 2002
Clipping is one of the most common problems thta can ruin digital sound recording. However, GenieSys has a way to recover some of the lost audio.
Engineers researched adaptive self-learning systems (one of the aspects of Artificial Intelligence science) and combined the results with some techniques of neural networks. The final result made it possible to create an algorithm for recovering audio tracks with clipping. This algorithm is packaged in a DirectX plug-in, GenieSys DeClipper.
- The plug-in is intended for correction of the ENTIRE audio file - it can not be separately applied to a just a part of the file.
- Preliminary measurements and settings should be done in the selected areas of the file which are corrupted most.
- Declipper recovers the signal provided the overclipping level is 3-6 dB on some segments.
- In case of contiguous corruption of the signal in audio file with overclipping level in excess of 10-12 Db, full recovery is not as good. However, Declipper still can reduce the clipping and distortion of the signal.
In the new version audio-restoration plug-in, DeClipper v2.0, the following changes are included:
- Algorithm for restoration of peaks of the overclipped signal and elaboration of restoration of harmonics.
- Visual real-time control of restored soundtrack shown as an oscilloscope display.
- Output level control of a restored signal.
License Information: 3-Days trial demo. Full version - US $19.95.
