pcAudioLabs.com and VirtualStudioWorx.com have released the
Desktop System 1099 Digital Audio Workstation. The Desktop System
1099 provides all the power of a desktop and a laptop including PCMCIA
type II card support.
The system is designed around the FIC Crusader CS-VC35 small form factor case
-- featuring the Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz processor with 512MB DDR
Memory and the Intel 845D chipset. The small form factor case offers 2 low profile PCI slots and 1 AGP 2.0
slot. The 3rd PCI slot is reserved for PCMCIA support on the front
panel. Also included is a Seagate 80GB hard drive and a 48x24x48 CD-R/W
drive to archive your data and record your very own Audio CDs.
If you decide to expand your system in the
future, there are 2 firewire ports, and 4 USB 2.0 ports. The Desktop
System 1099 includes Windows XP Home Edition pre-installed and
pre-configured for musicians.
They've also included an M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 for hi-fidelity
24bit/96KHz playback and recording featuring M-Audio's Low Latency
ASIO and WDM drivers, tweaking the system to get the best
performace.
Each system includes 6 months of free tech support provided by Virtual
Studio Worx.
