IK Multimedia is closer to releasing AmpliTube Live, a stand-alone virtual guitar amp and effects modeling program for MacOS X.
Plug your guitar in with the appropriate adapter and you can play out into a PA or headphones.
AmpliTube Live includes a selection of guitar amp and effects models. You can combine 3 different preamp models and related EQs with 3 different cabinet models. A selected set of 4 classic effects are included as well:, Spring Reverb and 3 stomp-like effects including Wah-Wah, Delay and Overdrive, all modeled after acclaimed classic guitar effects.
AmpliTube Live also sports a chromatic tuner.
MacOS X Core Audio features are fully exploited by AmpliTube Live, which runs without any real perceivable latency. It's easy to set up and use, with no need for special hardware or software - it works with built-in Mac audio hardware. Plus you can change the skins to match your mood.
128 presets are included (64 factory, 64 user) which can be selected live via a general MIDI foot controller, so you might even forget you're not playing a real amp.
Compatibility and Pricing
AmpliTube Live is compatible with every Mac running MacOS X 10.2 with built-in audio (an external audio card is needed for laptop or desktop systems without built-in audio I/O).
AmpliTube list price is set at $/Euro129 (street price $/Euro 99 MAP ) and its expected to be available this month at music and Apple retailers around the world. For more information, visit their web site at www.ikmultimedia.com. |
