After making its debut at Summer NAMM, Schecter Guitar Research is now shipping new CV-4 Bass. This new Diamond Series bass features a sleek contoured arched mahogany body and a 6-bolt 34" scale rock maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
According to Schecter's president, Michael Ciravolo, "the heart of the CV-4 is the electronics. We listened to some of our artists and this bass fills a sound void for us ... and does it in a very BIG way. I feel we have a perfect marriage of vintage and modern, without being too 'high tech'! "
The CV-4 is armed with a unique combination of Duncan Designed pickups. A 'MM' bass humbucker in the bridge and an Alnico magnet vintage J-Bass style single coil in the neck give the CV-4 a wide array of tonal options. This versatility is further enhanced by the Duncan BEQ-3 system, which, in addition to a Master Volume and Blend control, gives the player 12db of cut and/or boast control of the bass, middle and treble frequencies. A 'slap' switch is also included, adding further mid-range attack (a/k/a Korn sound)
A massive chrome plated Hipshot 'A' style bridge adds sonic sustain, low-end clarity and gives the player the option of 'thru-body' or traditional top-load stringing - or a combination of both. All 2003 Schecter basses are now strung with ELIXR strings.
A CV-5 (5-string) is also planned for debut at Winter NAMM 2004.
MSRP: $799.00. Left hand versions also available (+$50.00). Available in: Dark Vintage Sunburst and Gloss Black. All Schecter Diamond Series Guitars are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
