Burning Blue Audio Announces PowerPak USB Headphone Amp
May 7, 2003
Disappointed by the poor sound quality from
laptop and onboard sound cards, Burning Blue Audio is introducing the
PowerPak, a USB-powered and USB-controlled headphone amplifier /
audio interface. The PowerPak takes digital audio and converts it to an
analog signal. It then amplifies the audio specifically for headphone
usage. The device is completely USB-powered - there is no need for
batteries or an AC adapter.
To ensure high-quality sound, the PowerPak uses a digital-analog
converter (DAC) designed specifically for headphone
amplification. The device bypasses internal computer sound cards, and as
a result, all analog audio processing stays outside of the electrically
noisy computer enclosure.
Burning Blue Audio has designed the PowerPak for easy, portable usage.
The PowerPak's small size (1 x 2 x 3 in.) takes up very little space,
and its lightweight and rugged construction makes it ideal for
transporting anywhere. CEO and Founder, Geoff Meredith commented, "The
PowerPak is the perfect solution for people who want to listen to music
on their computers, regardless of where their computer is located. If
you are in an office cubicle, an airport, your home office, the family
room, or using the spare computer in your bedroom, you can listen to
high-quality music, as loud as you want, without disturbing anyone
around you." Mr. Meredith further noted, "While many people have
purchased MP3 players to listen to digital audio and to work around the
poor sound quality of laptops, many would prefer to listen to their
digital audio files directly from their computer rather than deal with
syncing issues and the smaller storage capacity of typical MP3 players.
With the PowerPak, the only limitation is the size of your computer's
hard drive."
The PowerPak has a quick and easy plug-and-play installation. Most
modern operating systems already have the required drivers, so there is
no additional software to install and the PowerPak easily connects
to any Mac or PC computer with a USB port via a standard USB cable.
The PowerPak is now available for $149.
