New SONAR Training CD-ROM Released
April 11, 2003
The Digital Music Doctor, Clark Murray, has
announced the release of a new CD-ROM tutorial SONAR -- Swift & Deep. SONAR
is Cakewalk's flagship product and is one of the most widely used midi and digital audio
editors in the music business. Murray, who has produced four albums using SONAR
and its predecessor, Cakewalk ProAudio, notes: "This tutorial, designed both for the
beginner as well as the experienced musician, contains more than 70 minutes of screen
videos. SONAR, like most specialized software, has a unique user interface which can
be explained much more effectively with screen videos than using printed material. The
tutorial also includes sample projects to help musicians learn all aspects of audio and
midi recording, editing, and mixing using SONAR."
The tutorial contains nine modules--
three devoted to setting up and
customizing SONAR, another three
which focus on midi recording and
editing, and a final three which cover
audio recording, editing and mixing--
including loop construction.
Prior to the production release,
extensive prototype testing of the
tutorial was conducted among
experienced Cakewalk users.
SONAR -- Swift & Deep is
presented using Macromedia Flash
and requires Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.5 or later. The examples
used in the tutorials require Cakewalk
SONAR 2.0 or later.
SONAR -- Swift & Deep retails for $29.95 and is available at the Digital Music Doctor
website. The site also features demos of the tutorials.
