Unity's Real-Time Interface in Pro Tools
(Click for a close-up) |
July 28, 2003BitHeadz has started shipping the newest versions of Unity Session, Unity Synth Expander, Unity DS-1, and Unity AS-1.
This latest release primarily focuses on increasing integration with RTAS, VST, and Audio Unit supported sequencers under the OS X operating system. The new interface will give users control over program specific controls such as oscillator and filter parameters, modulation routing effects and modulator aspects, in addition to the Library/Bank/Program selection.
Moreover, audio input can now be used as a modulation source, run through AS-1's Ring Modulator, passed through a synthesizer's filters either on its own or mixed with the audio output of a Unity program. Audio can also be used to trigger voices and envelopes.
Other features in version 3.2 include support for Mac OS X's multi-channel high-sample rate Core Audio (for use with professional audio interfaces), minor bug fixes, improved Unity Player functionality, Unity Editor can import/export tuning tables as text files, improved Unity Librarian functionality, and added modulator and modulation routing support for audio and MIDI effect parameters.
The update will be free to all current 3.x users and is available for download from the company web site. For more information, visit their web site at www.bitheadz.com. |
