db-audioware has released quantum-fx which bundles together an extensive library of VST & DirectX plug-ins with a plug-in editor that allows the creation of new custom effects, all for the Windows platform.
The Creative Pack provides a suite of effects designed to warp and morph samples and loops in completely new directions. Resonant filters, tempo delays and multi-bank sweeping ambient filters will transform audio into something fresh.
The Studio Pack provides all tools to make a mix stand out from the crowd. It includes stereo enhancers, Vocal Hype, de-essers, compressors, exciters, mastering EQs and loudness maximisers. Some feature linear phase designs to ensure sound quality.
The Classic Pack provides the essential plug-ins. It includes chorus, delays, distortions, flangers, reverbs, auto panners, wahs, filters, EQ, tremolos, bass and guitar amp simulations. Some special effects like bass chorus and gated reverbs are also included in this pack.
If none of the available plug-ins suit your needs, you can also create your own using the quantum-fx workbench software. With it, you can graphically build new plug-ins from scratch by simply connecting together modules from a library of DSP functions. Tweak the standard effects to your exact requirements or build massive new effect racks by connecting together existing quantum-fx plug-ins.
The effects appearance is completely customisable using the workbench visual plug-in editor as well. Choose from different colour schemes and control styles, or drop in custom graphics.
MSRP: $299. A demo is available for download at www.quantum-fx.com.
