AuviTran Adds EtherSound Capabilities to Yamaha Digital Mixers

May 10, 2004AuviTran SARL (France) is releasing a pair of EtherSound capable Yamaha mini-YGDAI interface cards: the AVY-8ES and AVY-16ES offering 8 and 16 channels IN/OUT respectively.
The cards offer full network and local control of all channel assignments, as well as constant network status monitoring and low propagation delay. The general purpose Serial port allows connection and control of the mixer's parameters or other 3rd-party external equipment.
Yamaha's YGDAI compatible mixers furnished with AVY card(s) will form a part of the ES network.
In addition to the above, AuviTran offers a range of EtherSound capable AVD-ES cards. The cards are aimed at the OEM market and provide up to 64 digital inputs and outputs with audio digital distribution over Ethernet and ultimate low propagation delay. AVD-ES cards include full network or local remote control management of channel assignment and provide GPIO, Host Port and Serial interfaces to manage directly internal parameters, as well as external devices for professional audio products.
EtherSound, a Digigram patented technology, allows low-latency audio networks using standard Ethernet cabling and components. EtherSound is designed to connect digital audio sources to networked audio devices. Up to 64 channels of 24-bit digital audio at 48 kHz, plus bi-directional control information, may be transported to more than 60,000 networked audio devices. The point-to-point transmission time between an audio input and an audio output in an EtherSound network is six samples (125µs at 48 kHz). Latency is independent of the number of channels transmitted. EtherSound is fully deterministic, making it possible to calculate the exact delay between any two devices in an EtherSound network.
