June 3, 2004The BB2 is a new product from SADiE targeted primarily at the radio broadcast market. Utilizing a USB2.0 interface, it can be quickly added to any modern laptop or desktop host PC running Windows XP. Designed with an injection-molded plastic casing, the fully portable SADiE BB2 is simple to install.
Incorporating a newly designed DSP sub-system, the BB2 addresses the growing need in the broadcast industry for a professional yet simplified product suited to smaller scale editing and recording tasks and fast turn-around packages. Connections are provided for analogue I/O, SPDIF digital I/O, headphone output, and stereo microphone input.
Based on the design of the SADiE BB2, the BB2-J version combines all of the audio I/O capability and functionality of the BB2 with a Jog Wheel controller, together with core function buttons. The BB2-J has been ergonomically designed to reduce the risk of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) exacerbated by constant use of a mouse in repetitive editing operations.
The SADiE BB2 and BB2-J are available as standard with a radically simplified user interface, making them very intuitive to learn and use. This interface is concentrated into a single window and allows the recording and editing of up to 8 tracks with level and pan controls, transport, clip selection, and master output level controls, all accessible from within this one window. Normal cut/copy/paste routines as well as both the familiar SADiE playlist and region editing functions are incorporated.
Future versions of the BB2/BB2-J are planned and will incorporate additional levels of editing functionality to extend the choices available to the broadcaster and other end users.
Full interchange with other more powerful SADiE Series 5 systems, in addition to other manufacturers' equipment, is provided to allow projects to be migrated to larger systems when required.
