PRESS RELEASE

Sebatron Announces Deuterium Class A Tube DI

February 27, 2004

Sebatron announced that it has begun shipping it's Deuterium, a valve driven totally Class A direct inject interface designed for guitar and bass as well as line level signals. The Deuterium is available now through Sebatron and associated retailers with a suggested retail price of $1,295(USD).

To accommodate the wide variety of output impedances found in modern and classic pro audio equipment, Deuterium features five unique inputs. Now it's easy to match levels between guitars, bass and keyboard without the need to hunt down external gain or attenuation. The first four of the inputs are set to accept different impedances while the fifth is a ' Bright ' input, with a low-frequency roll-off around 120Hz.

Deuterium features three sections of minimal passive analog EQ. A six-position deep selector focuses on frequencies above 10Hz and below 300Hz. For the higher end of the spectrum there is a 3-position boost/flat/cut switch. Super-Low frequencies can be boosted subtly via a two-position sub/flat toggle.

A 'color' control determines the input stage level, which in turn affects the natural valve color and compression behavior of the Deuterium. Deuterium's gain is supplied completely by two 12at7 valves. A driven/normal switch allows for the 2nd valve stage to be driven, providing up to 40db of transparent gain and the ability to heavily saturate signals when desired. An output level pot is instituted just before the Deuterium's outputs. Outputs are balanced XLR, 1/4" balanced, and unbalanced phono sockets.

Deuterium is also available with VU metering for an additional $200.
