A "creativity enhancement tool" for generating musical options, My Advanced Jam Assistant (MAJA) was created for writing/composing new music, improvising/soloing, or anything else you might want to do.

MAJA is NOT just for guitar. It is for any stringed instrument - fretted or fretless, with ANY number of strings, tuned in ANY way imaginable. In fact, MAJA is universal and applicable to all musicians wanting to be more creative about how they write and play. Use MAJA for finding different ways of approaching a solo, new chords, new scales, new melodies, and more.

On the company website there are three examples illustrating how MAJA can be used to abstract the basic chords to "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix into three very different genres/interpretations - rock/traditional, Jazz/Blues, and New Age - all the same functional musical structure (i.e., variants of a IIm - IV - V progression).

In these three examples, the starting point is chord progression and the software entry point is a single module -- Progression Builder. But MAJA actually contains two other core modules, Chord Builder and Scale Builder.

You can switch (or leap-frog) into the Chord Builder module, and import chords from the Progression Builder. In Chord Builder, among many other things, you can get dozens of different fingerings for these chords, plus other related chords, substitute chords - and related scales.

Let's say you find a scale that really interests you in Chord Builder. You can leap-frog again - this time into the Scale Builder module - and import that scale. While in Scale Builder, among other things, you can get dozens of different fingerings for that scale, plus other related scales, similar/substitute scales, etc. So let's say that while you're in Scale Builder, you find another related scale (besides the one you found in Chord Builder) that interests you. You can get fingerings for that scale, other related/similar scales, substitute scales - plus related

From Scale Builder, you can leap-frog back to Chord Builder, import those new chords, get fingerings for them, and plus other related scales. You can continue this iterative process for long as you like, exploring and expanding your original set of creative musical options -- chords, arpeggios, scales, approaches. Whereas you started out with just a few chords, after just 10 minutes you have many more chords and two scales -- any or all of which you can use in your own material -- for composition or soloing.

Here is a partial list of some things you can do using MAJA:

  • Produce hundreds of variations on a single, simple chord progression;
  • Use the chord progression generator to generate hundreds on chord progressions (i.e., songs) and variations on them almost instantly;
  • Derive from ANY scale, a large number of related chords (called scale chords) and related, similar, or substitute scales;
  • Derive for ANY chord, a large number of related scales (called chord scales) and related, similar, or substitute chords;
  • Enter ANY chord, either by preset chord name or by entering individual notes (by note name or location on the instrument) and learn how to play it on any stringed instrument;
  • Enter ANY scale, either by preset scale name or by entering individual notes (by note name or location on the instrument) and learn how to play it on any stringed instrument;
  • Instantly transpose any song/progression from any key to any other another key; convert you new ideas to scores -- printing them out in roadmap notation -- allowing you to take them to you next jam rehearsal to share with others.

MAJA is priced at $49.99, and sold as a download.
