The Lectrosonics MM400A transmitter
has been updated as the MM400B to include a waterproof, programmable switch,
a steel cable battery door retainer and an IFB compatibility emulation mode.
The MM400B transmitter, like its predecessor, features 100mW RF power with a
circular isolator at the output for reduced IM distortion. The case for the
transmitter is highly water-resistant and plated with a special
corrosion-resistant surface.
The new switch assembly is user-friendly, yet remains sealed to water and
other elements by employing a magnetic reed system. As delivered, the switch
turns the unit's power on and off. However, it can be programmed to operate
as a mute switch, therefore maintaining the carrier signal while simply
muting the audio. This allows for rapid muting and un-muting of the audio
program in applications requiring this feature.
The MM400B uses Digital Hybrid Wireless technology that allows it to
transmit audio without an analog compandor when used in native 400 series
mode. In addition, the transmitter can be programmed to emulate several
other analog transmitters and can also emulate IFB transmitters for direct
transmission to Lectrosonics belt-pack IFB receiver units.
