BGW Systems Launches Musicians' Series Power Amps

BGW Systems (an Amplifier Technologies, Inc. company) introduced a new series of amplifiers to its range of US-designed and built power amplifiers: The Musicians' Series.
The Musicians' Series is available in three models: the X2500, X3800, and the X5600. Power ratings range from 440 Watts per channel to 880 Watts per channel into 8-Ohm loads. The X2500 and X3800 operate reliably @ 2 Ohms and all 3 models may be bridged for mono operation.
All Musicians' Series amplifiers incorporate Super-H circuit design. This technology varies the amount of voltage necessary to drive the output transistors to a greater or lesser power output depending on listening level demands. Super-H design guarantees cooler-running field operation as well as lower A.C. power consumption.
Additional features include:
- Smart Surge Active turn-on surge limiting.
- Fan: Variable speed for quiet operation.
- dB attenuators: Detented attenuators on front panel to ensure accurate setting reliability.
- Ground lift: Switch provided on back panel.
- Protection: Independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel
- Solid State power switching: No relays or switches to burn out over time.
- Toroid Transformers: Oversized to ensure deep bass response and reliable operation under severe conditions.
- Modular Construction: Facilitates troubleshooting.
- Soft Start Circuitry: Ultra soft turn on prevents turn-on noises even from driving equipment.
- Power Transistors: High-current, high-bandwidth bi-polar output transistors with active bias circuits result in clean, reliable operation.
- Power Cord: Detachable, 3-wire cord.
- 3-Year Warranty: Parts and labor against defects in parts or workmanship.
Each channel's circuitry has been designed for wide bandwidth with a power-bandwidth from 20Hz to 20kHz. THD and SMPTE IM distortions are both 0.008% or less at rated output. Signal-to-noise ratio is >110dBA or better, and damping factor is a superb 300 or more with 8 Ohm load.
