Audioinstruction Kicks Off Series of Recording Instructional Videos
April 1, 2005
The first in a new series of video DVDs, Russ Long's Guide to Nashville Recording follows veteran engineer, Russ Long, as he records and mixes two songs, (drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals), from start to finish, giving you a first hand look at how he does it.
Russ records "Marianna", using some of the finest recording gear available today, featuring: Chandler Limited, Daking, Royer, Langevin, and Pendulum Audio, and more.
In contrast, Russ then tracks "Lost in the Radio" utilizing affordable Shure SM57 microphones, and a Mackie 1604 mixer.
All of Russ's engineering choices are captured close-up, including mic position, EQ and compression settings, and more.
Russ Long's Guide to Nashville Recording also comes with a DVD-ROM, containing all the individual 24 bit audio files so you can carefully review the tracks and remix them yourself. Over two Gigabytes of material.
Russ Long's engineering credits include Mercy Me, Allison Moorer, Sixpence None the Richer, Wilco, and others.
Total running time of the video DVD is 85 minutes. The DVD-ROM with the audio files is PC & Mac compatible.
Russ Long's Guide to Nashville Recording is priced at $49.95, but available for the pre-order price of $39.95. It starts shipping April 8. For more information, visit their web site at www.audioinstruction.com. |
