What magic makes every Taylor guitar neck a straight, smooth, playable dream? Visitors to www.taylorguitars.com can watch The Taylor Neck, the latest "Factory Fridays" video from Taylor Guitars, and find out.
Bob Taylor has dedicated his life to improving the way guitars are constructed, and nowhere is this more evident than in a Taylor neck. In the late eighties, the Southern California-based luthier broke with tradition, purchasing and adapting his first Computer-Numerically-Controlled (CNC) milling machine to automate the neck-carving process, despite much criticism from his peers. Taylor never looked back (and the reluctant industry eventually followed in his footsteps).
In this new Factory Fridays video, viewers will witness the amazing combination of CNC milling and old-fashioned hand craftsmanship necessary to create consistently perfect Taylor guitar necks.
On the first Friday of every month, a new Factory Fridays video is posted in the "See/Hear" section of the Taylor homepage. All twelve installments of the Factory Friday series are currently available for viewing on the site. For more information, visit their web site at www.taylorguitars.com.
