Epiphone Announces Range Of Limited Edition Guitar Of The Month Models At Winter NAMM
January 16, 2006
After the success of last year's models, Epiphone has designed a brand-new range of limited-edition models for NAMM 2006. Every quarter, Epiphone will launch three new limited edition models. Each will be based on an existing Epiphone design, but with a unique twist that makes these custom guitars a genuine collectors item.
The Epiphone Firebird Studio in Vintage Sunburst features a reverse body styling plus a set neck and Alnico Classic humbucker. The twist comes in the form of Steinberger's 40:1 direct-drive tuners in unbeatable tuning precision. The PR5-E in Alpine White is a limited edition version of the acoustic/electric model with a unique finish.
The Epiphone Ripper Bass with a Custom shop makeover and featuring a hard maple body, neck and fingerboard with a new PJ pickup. Epiphone's 57 Les Paul Junior Reissue features mahogany combined with the classic neck and raw tones of the P-100 humbucker. The Epiphone Casino, most famous as the guitar of choice for The Beatles, is a limited edition hollow-body complete with Bigsby trim and sunburst finish. Based on the most recognizable acoustic guitar of our time, the Epiphone SQ-180 reissue features an ebony finish and distinctive moustache pickguards, small body jumbo styling and mother-of-pearl inlays. The ES-135 is one of the most versatile axes on the market, combining the presences of the ES-175 and the ES-335. The best of both worlds Epiphone guitar is available in limited edition Blueburst finish.
Epiphone also introduces an even "wilder" limited edition WildKat in gorgeous Sunrise Orange. With its vintage chrome P-90 pickups and Bigsby vibrato, this Epiphone original semi-hollow body is the perfect guitar for rock, blues and country. There is also an Epiphone Les Paul Special II Deluxe in vintage Sunburst that combines genuine humbucker driven performance with an entry-level price. Exhibiting amongst all Epiphone new products will also be a Deluxe version of the AJ-200S that matches the classic Advanced Jumbo shape with a solid spruce top and gold hardware.
Epiphone will also launch the EJ-212CE 12-string complete with remarkable tone, performance enhancing cutaway, ebony finish and Shadow preamp. The 2006 Epiphone "Guitars of the Month" will be displayed for the first time at Winter NAMM in Anaheim, California January 19-22, 2006 and will be available from selected dealers for a limited period.
