To celebrate the company's 25th Anniversary, the G&L Custom Shop has designed a special instrument featuring Leo Fender's first pickup for G&L, the Magnetic Field humbucker, which originally appeared on the F-100 model in 1980.
Available in a limited edition of only 250 instruments, the guitar's specially wound pickups complement the mahogany used in both body and neck. Other features of this guitar, which has a rich finish that has been custom blended to match the aged appearance of a 1981 F-100, include rosewood fingerboard, two of the aforementioned pickups, G&L Saddle Lock bridge, chrome Sperzel tuners, rear-mounted 3-way pickup selector, plus volume and tone controls with knurled knobs. All instruments, supplied with a tolex covered hardshell case, carry a certificate of authentication. For more information, visit their web site at www.glguitars.com.
