The K-MAX-MIDI BASS has been added to the product line of HOAG GUITARS. It
joins the K-MAX-25 MIDI guitar that was released in June of this year.
Together, they offer a spectrum of sound that is second to none. Optical
Pickups are the flagship of Hoag Instruments. Their audio range, simplicity
of design, and ease of installation, have made it an obvious choice for new Hoag
instrument designs.
Hoag optical pickups have an audio range from a few Hertz to well over that of the human ear. However, if you want to extend the sounds beyond the
natural bass, you may use the MIDI capability. Connect it to a MIDI
interface and play along with your bass lines. The 5-string bass is also
available with MIDI. It has the same quick response and the ability to
latch onto the lowest string fundamental.
Prices for the 4 string model start at $1295, 5 string start at $1495, with MIDI add $200.
You may go to the Hoag Instruments website to hear a MIDI bass
sample and make your own evaluation. It is recommended to download the
sample and play it on an amplifier that is capable of very low
frequencies. For more information, visit their web site at www.opticalguitars.com.
