MusicSUBMIT Announces Slate Of Expanded Services For Musicians
April 22, 2006
MusicSUBMIT, a music promotion service that connects independent artists with Internet music resources, has announced they will expand their existing services beginning April 18, 2006. In addition to their standard electronic artist submission packages, MusicSUBMIT will now offer flash player-enhanced submissions, upgraded account management features and an ecommerce affiliate program that allows MusicSUBMIT resources to sell artist CDs.
MusicSUBMIT's primary objective is to help independent artists gain exposure by submitting them to targeted, genre-specific Internet radio stations, online music magazines, online music directories, blogs, podcasts and other electronic music media. Submissions consist of background information on the artist, pictures, bio, one press release and an embedded flashplayer. The new system allows online music resources to include any artists flashplayer directly on their site, along with a "Buy Now" link for selling the artists CDs.
MusicSUBMIT Marketing Director Mike Corcoran explains, "This will make it easier for bands to get their music out to people who want it. Plus, the online music resources get a shot at making some money, too." In the price structure of the sale, the music resource gets $3, MusicSUBMIT receives a transaction fee of $1 and the artist gets the rest. "This also gives the radio station an incentive to open artist submissions—there might be a potential moneymaker in their email. Everyone benefits from the deal," says Corcoran, a die-hard independent music supporter, with confidence.
MusicSUBMIT was founded in January, 2003, by company president Trevor Lyman. A musician himself, Lyman spent endless hours researching potential outlets for his music and realized that there was a world full of musicians scouring the Internet doing the exact same thing — duplicating each others work over and over again. "I created MusicSUBMIT to help musicians get back to doing what they love to do most—create their music!" explains Lyman.
Three years later, MusicSUBMIT has helped over 3,000 independent artists connect with over 6,000 Internet music resources all over the world. For more information, visit their web site at www.musicsubmit.com.
