Sonoma Wire Works Announces Version 2 Of Riffworks Standard
January 8, 2006
Sonoma Wire Works™, developers of RiffWorks, is demonstrating the latest version of their award-winning guitar recording software at the Consumer Electronics Show this week in the Studio@Home Pavilion at the Sands Convention Center. RiffWorks Standard Version 2 is coming soon for Mac OS X as well as Windows XP and includes new InstantDrummer Sessions, RiffLink online collaboration service, RiffCaster instant podcasting technology, and more*.
Recording Made Fun
Designed for guitarists first, but equally comfortable for any musician to use, RiffWorks makes recording fun. RiffWorks users can set the tempo and start recording simply by strumming their guitar. Real-time effects help create just the right tone, and the InstantDrummer offers live drummer back-up recordings and the ability to dial in the right amount of intensity and variation without typical tedious drum-machine programming. Several new recording features have been added in version 2 including Riff Notes, Riff Gain and Riff Effects*.
Jam Online
With integrated RiffLink technology RiffWorks users will be able to jam together online with no technical challenges regardless of their platform (Windows XP or Mac OS X). RiffLink collaboration will allow multiple users to record and mix in a shared session in real-time or when they have time. A list of available collaborations is presented within RiffWorks. Once a session is created or joined, collaborators will be able to chat and see each other’s actions. Users will be able to create new Riffs or record layers in Riffs already created by another user. Each layer is instantly streamed to other current users as well as saved on the server for future collaborators. Collaboration sessions can be created as public or private, and private sessions can be shared directly with friends by simply emailing a link.
Instant Podcasting
RiffWorks Version 2 will offer one click podcasting and webcasting. RiffCaster broadcasting service allows instant publishing via podcasts, webcasts, and personal web pages at the press of a button--all with embedded Creative Commons licensing. On their personal web page users will be able to organize their songs into albums and add album art and liner notes.
"We’ve heard several killer songs produced by RiffWorks users who say it’s their first time ever recording. Many musicians post their first song on RiffCaster the same night they install RiffWorks," says Doug Wright, President and CEO of Sonoma Wire Works. "And now with RiffLink they can collaborate with friends, too!"
