Tonelux Shadowmix
Shadowmix, the newest product from Tonelux, is a moving fader system which shadows any DAW system that can work with fader controllers. Like traditional console-automation systems, Shadowmix takes audio from the DAW at a pre-fade point, allowing the faders to control levels into the Tonelux Vrack system, while keeping digital to analog outputs at maximum resolution. Fader moves in the DAW translate directly to the Tonelux faders for a true analog mixdown. Tonelux will be showcasing a working system at this year's NAMM show.
Tonelux MP2D Dual Mic Pre with A-to-D Converters
Tonelux and Genex Audio have teamed up to introduce a new line of A-to-D and D-to-A converters for the Tonelux Vrack system. The first release will be the Tonelux MP2D, a stand-alone 19" 1U dual Tonelux MP1 Mic Pre with A-to-D converters built in. Unlike many competitors, the line will incorporate every sample-rate from PCM 44.1kHz through PCM 192, including 64 fs DSD and 128 fs DSD, and an option that includes DXD 352 (PCM) and 384 PCM. The unit will include Word Clock IN, and Word Clock OUT, which also serves as a Word Clock THROUGH when clocked externally. The internal clock is so stable that it can be used as the master clock, eliminating the need for word clock distribution with multiple units. Digital outputs include optical, AES (for all PCM rates) and coax for DSD. The analog chain includes XLR inputs on the front and rear, as well as instrument inputs. The rear has analog outputs for the mic pre and inserts for the A-to-D so it can be used independently or as the insert point for a compressor feeding the A-to-D from the mic pre. The MP2D will be released at this year's NAMM show.
