Entries Now Being Accepted For The 11th Annual USA Songwriting Competition

Entries for the 11th Annual USA Songwriting Competition are currently being
accepted. Winning songs will receive airplay on a syndicated radio program
"Acoustic Café" (in USA and Canada) as well as on XM Satellite Radio.
This is the first Songwriting Competition that gives airplay to the winning
songs, giving up and coming bands and aspiring songwriters the recognition
and exposure they deserve. The Grand Prize package is valued at over
US$50,000 in cash, merchandise and exposure, making this the largest grand
prize package for any annual songwriting competition. Other great prizes
and awards, including industry exposure and airplay are awarded to winners
in each of the 15 categories available for entry.
The USA Songwriting Competition is also sponsored by Sony, Keyboard
magazine, New Music Weekly, Audio-Technica, Ibanez Guitars, D'Addario
Strings, Peavey, Sam Ash Music Stores, IK Multimedia, MixDownMedia.com,
Indie Bible, Garritan Music Software, Acoustic Cafe, Livewire Contacts,
Loggins Promotion, Hear Technologies, Superdups.com, Sonicbids.com and XM
Radio.
Songs may be entered in 15 different categories including Pop,
Rock/Alternative, R&B and Country. The competition is aimed at promoting
excellence in the art of songwriting among writers, composers, bands,
singer/songwriters and solo artists in an international forum. Entries are
accepted from now through May 31, 2006.
Past winners came from South Africa, Italy, Germany, Switzerland,
Australia, Norway, Argentina, Columbia, Moldova, Iceland, Japan, Indonesia,
Philippines, Singapore, The Czech Republic, Bahamas, Bulgaria, Canada,
United States and UK.
Darrell Scott (Nashville, TN), winner of the country category of the 2005 USA Songwriting Competition will have his winning song "Good Ol USA" cut by award winning country singer Faith Hill.
Also, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer (Kensington, MD), winners of the
Childrens' music catgeory of the 2005 USA Songwriting Competition, were
nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Children's music album at the 2006
