Virtuoso guitarist George Lynch, who plays Yamaha acoustics, has debuted his own one-of-a-kind Guitar Dojo featuring exclusive monthly online guitar lessons. Offered in semester programs and inspired by the set-up of a karate studio, the web-based application presents video, audio, and tablature, featuring elements never revealed by Lynch in any interview, instructional DVD, or publication.

"This unique online platform will no doubt inspire and train musicians who have long admired this prolific guitarist. We are honored that George chooses to play our acoustic guitars," comments Mike Tempesta, artist relations manager for Yamaha Guitars. Lynch plays a trio of Yamaha acoustics: a jumbo CJ32, a standard dreadnought-sized LL26, and a CSF100K, a petite parlor guitar.

Within an hour of its launch, the Guitar Dojo, located at www.georgelynch.com, was flooded with positive reviews from students who felt the site not only met their expectations, but also far exceeded them. Students can pose questions at-will throughout the month, and Lynch will respond and provide additional help.

Arguably one of Lynch's most ambitious ventures to date, the Dojo is indeed a labor of love for the heavy metal guitarist who envisioned the online training Dojo as a way to reach out to the many fans who requested advice and lessons from him. In months to come, Lynch hopes to continue to provide impressive content to the site and offer inspiring lessons. A one month membership to the Dojo costs $29.99, a one-semester membership (6 months) costs $119.94, and two semesters (a full year) costs $239.88.

Lynch is not only connecting with students through the Internet. He just recently returned from an extensive Yamaha L Series Acoustic Clinic Tour to some of the most exotic locations in the world, including India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, China, and Hong Kong.

One of the most popular guitarists to emerge from '80s-era heavy metal with an arsenal of snazzy-looking guitars and speedy solos, Lynch helped propel Dokken toward the top of the charts and later, launched a solo career. Lynch is currently working on an instrumental record consisting of acoustic and electric material and will tour in support of the album later this year.
