112dB Software Announces Public Beta Test For Morgana

112dB Software has announced that Morgana will be available for a time-limited, open beta test.

As a sneak preview, any individual who registers to the 112db.com forum will be able to download a special 30-day beta version of Morgana with no feature limitations. Also included are a small sampling of the available sample library to be included in the retail version of Morgana, and SampLink©, an exclusive 112dB technology which allows Morgana to sample from any audio track on any VST-compatible host.

To commensurate the imminent release of Morgana, 112dB Software is also announcing a contest open to all who download the beta release of Morgana.

One first-place prize of one retail copy of Morgana will be awarded in each of three categories, described below:

Showstopper-stopper: Any entrant who submits bug/crash reports and/or glaring feature omissions will be considered for the prize of showstopper-stopper, the winner being determined based on quantity and usefulness of said reports/feedback. In addition, the winner of this category will receive a special mention in Morgana's user manual.

Samplemaster: Any entrant who submits a sample/patch bank will be considered for the prize of samplemaster, the winner being determined by subjective quality of said sample/patch bank and utilization of Morgana's synthesis/editing capabilities. Multiple entries are allowed, but only the single best sample/patch bank will be awarded a prize. In addition, all entries will be considered for inclusion within the factory sample library in the commercial version of Morgana.

Morgana Maestro: Any entrant who submits a composition which utilizes Morgana in its sound generation, in part or in whole, will be considered for the prize of Morgana Maestro, the winner being determined by subjective quality of composition and the extent to which Morgana was utilized. Multiple entries are allowed, but only the single best composition will be awarded a prize. In addition, all entries will be considered for public download (with credit to the entrant) on the 112db.com website.

Additionally, all entrants will be awarded a 25% discount towards the retail version of Morgana. The contest period is to be held from 05.07.07 to 06.07.07 or until the final commercial release of Morgana, whichever is later.

Morgana is expected to be available in Q2 2007.
